Whitman Conservation District –Annual Planning Meeting

Tuesday   February 17, 2015          10:15A.M.             601 N Main Conference Room, Colfax, WA

 

The special meeting of the Whitman Conservation District was brought to order at 10:15a.m. by David Lange, Chair. 

Representing a quorum, present was:

 

Supervisors:    Rhod McIntosh, Jan Turney, Cory Aeschliman and Walter Riley.

 

District Staff:   Nancy Hoobler

Accountant:    Brandy Wigen

Commission Representative: Ray Ledgerwood

NRCS Representative: NA

Financial Report:

The bill for the Annual Dinner Meeting was presented, the count had been in the high 60’s, reservations were made for 70 attendees, 39 meals were served.  The District was charged for 50 meals at $12.00 per, the total owed for the meal was $600.00.

Cory Aeschliman moved to pay the $600.00 for the meal.  Rhod McIntosh seconded, motion passed, none opposed and none abstained from voting.

Correspondence/District News:

 

Coordinator Report:

Worked on election process; attended Direct Seed Breakfast; traveled to Olympia for the RCPP Grant Announcement; contacted producers about annual dinner meeting and made the arrangements; burn permits; designed posters for new display board; assisted with ARI workshop; attended DOE Burn Team meeting; used some sick leave.

Old Business:

  • Annual Dinner meeting:  Ray suggested asking producers who have received cost share from District to speak about their experience and project.  Since WA F&W was not able to attend, to check with them about setting another meeting time for their presentation.
  • Planning:  Reviewed and updated 5 year Plan, reviewed Good Governance & Schedule 22 check lists, preformed the internal audit, and asked Nancy to update the Annual Plan for supervisors review.

New Business:

  • Executive Session:  When Board holds an executive session it must be entered into the minutes and reference RCW 42.30.110
  • Conservation Plans:  Records must be kept for 7 years.
  • RCWs: Review RCW 89.08.201 & 89.08.220 annually
  • Partners: Contact DNR and invite them to a meeting.
  • Cultural Resource:  Contact NRCS for a copy of their practice exemption list for Cultural Resources.

 The next regular Board meeting will be on March 12, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at 601 N Main, Colfax, WA.

 

There being no further business Jan Turney motioned and Cory Aeschliman seconded to adjourn the meeting at 3 p.m., motion passed, none opposed and none abstained from voting.

 

 

Motion Recap:

Cory Aeschliman moved to pay the $600.00 for the meal.  Rhod McIntosh seconded, motion passed, none opposed and none abstained from voting.
