Conservation Field Crew

The Whitman Conservation District (WCD) is recruiting for FULL-TIME TEMPORARY Conservation Field Crew Members. These positions are anticipated to start March 2nd 2026 and end November 30th. Work is dependent on continued grant funding. The work is based out of Colfax WA at job sites throughout Whitman County. Crew Members must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team; and the ability to clearly communicate with District staff and with project partners. The position will assist district staff and crew members, complete fieldwork, and assist in carrying out miscellaneous grant or contract-related tasks as part of the districts goals. Wages will be $18/hr. depending on experience. Temporary employees are eligible for overtime, and state required sick leave.

Conservation Project Planner (SPZ)

The Whitman Conservation District is seeking a Conservation Project Planner with a riparian restoration focus to support voluntary conservation projects on private lands. This position works closely with landowners, partners, and district staff to plan and implement riparian, stream, and habitat restoration projects.

This is a mixed field and office position with a strong emphasis on project implementation, site visits, and field coordination. The Planner provides technical assistance, supports permitting and grant-related tasks, assists with monitoring, and helps coordinate field crews and restoration activities.
